I have just read the trail updates section. Apparently, once one reaches the end of the trail at the Canadian border there is No phone available and one is out of reach of any cell tower. Also, there are still some people--like me--- who do not own a cell phone.
Just what do folks do? Even if one can arrange a ride you need to be able to say you arrived to get picked up.

Hi David, We haven't heard of anyone having any real problems with this yet. One thing that people can do, is call us when they reach Young's Store (payphone available) and we can meet you at the border. Cell phones are pretty much useless north of Dixville Notch. The snowmobile club up here uses satelite phones for the groomer operators and trail patrol. Even those can have dead spots in some sections. Also these can be quite pricey. There is some talk about a tower going in someplace in Colebrook. This might eleviate some of the problems.
Actually, who would want to "get back" to the rat race after enjoying the solitude and relaxation of the Cohos Trail!!!! Ridgerunner
