Two thirds of the way up Dixville Peak (on either side of the mountain) a new bypass foot trail has been cut to move hikers away from the new windmill towers that have been erected on the mountain.
Northbounders, watch for the new trail on the left near a large switchback turn in the service road. Southbounders, look for the trail on the right. Within a month or so, we should have new blazing and signage up so there should be no problem finding either the north of south entrance to the new mile-long trail.
This route actually improves the experience on Dixville Peak.
