Has anybody gps the cave near Mt. Magalloway or visited it? Read about it on the Cohos website a while back and would like to try to find it this summer.

Don't have GPS coordinates but can give you somewhat accurate directions.... The gates are closed now (as of Friday) for Magalloway Road but when they dry out and open back up (usually before Memorial Weekend) take the Magalloway Road for exactly 3 miles, turn right onto the Buckhorn Road. After 3-4 miles, Buckhorn swings left and Cedar Stream stays straight.... Take the left, staying on Buckhorn... When you come to the camp in a dip just past a stream, take the left instead of staying straight. Drive about 1/8 to 1/4 mile to park just before a clear cut on your left...and the rest is walking... Walk the camp side of the growing log cut, gently sloping upwards and the ridgeline will eventually become visable with limited views to your right....It's approximately a mile up onto the ridge and you're looking for a cave in the ground - at ground level, not a cave in a rock outcrop... Note: As of last summer (2011) the culvert/bridge before the camp was washed out....so you couldn't drive through but it's a fairly short distance to walk to the clearcut from the bridge. Also, a lot of logging was done in there over the course of the last two years so it's possible that they've logged up to the cave area. There was also blue flagging wrapped around the trees up there but not sure if it's still there or not. Hope this helps and maybe someone out there has some coordinates for you.
