You can get out on some new miles of trail in Pittsburg now. The Moose Alley Trail has been signed and blazed and is in very good shape now. The link between Second Connecticut Lake Dam and the boat launch is cut. And the Falls in the River Trail from Second Lake Dam pullout to the falls and flume is now cut. The only hitch in there is that the short span over Dry Brook isn't in yet. (Take the boots off, if necessary.) Terrific looking signage is going up and blazing is being nailed in place, thanks to the Castines. You may see photos of the work by going to the www.cohostrail.org home page, scrowling to the president's message and clicking on "here" a few paragraphs down. Good things are happening. Check it out! percy peaks

Percy Peaks, you are absolutely right. Those trails are now open. The Dry Brook area can be easily crossed without getting your feet wet. The Falls in the River Trail is also blazed and signed.
