I see that Ridgerunner is sounding us out about another summer gathering of CT fans this year, so I'll get things started: I'm certainly open to another June weekend at Sportsman's Lodge! Just avoid Father's Day weekend. If you haven't been to either of the previous summer gatherings, I recommend them highly if you're contemplating anything longer than a dayhike on the trail. The two weeks I spent on the trail last August were much richer for the informal conversations & advice I got last June at the Lodge. (And a visit to Big Diamond Pond is worth the drive in any case.)

Here's a possible suggestion. We put together a work weekend gathering and celebration at Kamp Kirk and invite folks to see just what we are up to in the Nash Stream Forest. Free accommodations. Free food. Free music. Free workload. Free beer. Free aspirin. Paid toilet.
How's about that!

Good morning everyone. We need to hear from you about our annual event. Unless we get enough interest this year, we may not hold an event at all. This event is for you the hiker and anyone interested in the trail system. It's a time to meet hikers and the Cohos crew and learn about the trail while having fun at the same time.

I'm all for several to many work weekends, using base camps like Camp Kirk and the Mtn Bungalow. I've actively put together a reliable volunteer crew this winter. They are willing to put their nose to the grindstone and 'get her done' during the day.
After a hearty dinner, I think sitting around a roaring campfire or a wood stove would soothe the soul before turning in. A big breakfast in the early morning and we'll continue on our project the next day. Build bog bridges, trail maintenance, shelters, remodeling & hut construction sounds like a solid plan to me. Work all day. Play & relax at night. I'm in with a volunteer crew. Any more followers!
