The Cohos Trail has been fortunate over the last couple of weeks in that Flatlander scheduled extra time into her hike north to help flag out the remaining section through brambles and thick vegetation in the Round Pond Brook region. She also trudged through temple high grasses to help assess the proposed Camp Otter Trail with MtnGoat.
And as noted in other sections of this forum, three hikers assisted us in reworking The Deadwater Trail yesterday.
Thanks again to those who give of their time to help make this trail better and better!
And let's not forget Mtn Magic who is always eager to go the extra mile......

Great work on the Deadwater Trail, Pete and Lainie. Glad to see the young thru-hikers and their dog lend a hand in brushing out the weeds and putting up signage on the Deadwater Trail. Terrific!

The latest hikers to give of themselves after hiking the trail were Dave and Louise Ransom. (Dave is aroung 80 and Louise is in her 70s)
They hiked from Dixville to Ramblewood where we picked them up to shuttle them back to their car. Stopped at Dube's for breakfast and mentioned that we were going to the snowmobile club house to work on the groomer track replacing the rubber pads. Next thing we know, they were at the clubhouse and spent 7 to 8 hours donating their time to the snowmobile club.
Dave and Louise also bring loppers and a small saw with them while hiking and clip the trail as they go. (They hiked from Crawford to Dixville last year.)
What other hiking association can boast that their hikers are willing to help out the motorized sports as well as the hiking trails?
Pretty neat I think

What could be better than the Ransom's out working on trails on behalf of hikers and snowmobilers?
A great thank you to them for their wonderful effort.
