Two items from my recent hike on the northern CT: first, the rainy June followed by the sunny July/August has brought out extremely thick vegetation on snowmobile corridor 21, which is part of the trail re-route northbound to Deadwater Loop Road. MtnGoat2 was out there just a few weeks ago to put up some CT signs, but most were gone by the time I went through recently. Bring your map & compass, ignore the logging cuts that seek to divert you, and watch out for well-concealed mud puddles. Second, there's a large tree that has fallen across Mcallaster Road, just north of Bear Rock Road in Stewartstown. There's room to squeeze under it. I expect one of the locals will be out there with a chainsaw soon.

We will be out today to take care of the vegetation and resign the Deadwater Trail. Our thru hikers have volunteered to go out with us. (Adam, Bianna, Alex and Tim)
