I'm looking to start my southbound CT hike around Sept 3rd. I'm still working out the logistics of getting to and from trailheads. The book says you can park at the US customs station. Is it safe to park there for up to 2 weeks? Is there anywhere to park in Pittsburg area and get a short shuttle to the start of the trail without hitching? I'm on a bit of a budget so I can't spend a fortune on a shuttle. I am willing to hitch back to the beginning from the southern terminus but would like to start without hitching. Any suggestions?
