Hello,
I am considering spending one or even two nights at Stark Village Inn on my CT hike. Have any of you stayed there? very nice? If I had a zero day there, could one get dinner as well as Breakfast? laundry facilities?
any general impressions? Photo of it makes it seem charming and the price is hard to beat (at 30-50 a night very much within my budget!)
Thanks so much
David
PS speaking of laundry.. where can I get my clothes washed along the trail? Or is it just rinse in stream and "suck it up"? Does Applebrook provide laundry?

David,
I rinse my clothing in stream or pond water, wring articles out and then suspend them from my pack to dry, or put them out on a rock slab to dry in the sun. Works every time. Since we're out hiking in the wilderness and not sitting in a business meeting, no one is going to care if your shirt is a little off color, if you know what I mean.
Nancy Spaulding runs the Stark Village Inn. She is very accommodating. You can certainly get a good breakfast...not sure if you could arrange a dinner meal, however.
Have a terrific hike.
