If the proposed wind farm currently being debated for Coos County goes through, what effect if any will it have on the Coos trail and will it be seen?

Hi David; From the way we see it, it will definitely effect the trail in Dixville - Dixville Peak to be specific... and we're not sure about the service roads...the rest of the towers, from what we understand, will be to the east side of the ridges. Some of the towers will more than likely be visable from the trail and there may be some audible sounds coming from the towers too. A meeting has been planned with one of the higher-ups when he has a chance to get to Colebrook and then we'll know more.

Hello David,
If the towers are built, you would see a good many of them from Baldhead lean-to. About 20 of them, I think, would be visible along the ridge of Kelsey Mt. and Owlhead.
From the south flank of Dixville Peak, I would think that most of the towers would be visible and you would be walking beneath a few of them.
Should you climb Sugarloaf or North or South Percy Peak you would also see a good number of them. They would also be visible from The Horn in the Kilkenny forest.
