great story. That really confirms your advise about the trail in march. The snow's a little deep this year I guess, or maybe not so unusual. what a great day.

To top it all off, it's snowing heavy right now. They are calling for up to 2 feet of new snow. March on the Cohos Trail could be very interesting!!! Two hikers hiked it in May of 2008 and they hit up to 3 or 4 feet on the 4000 footers. We are ready for it to melt so we can start the work of completing the trails in Pittsburg!!

Very interesting copy on the winter trek up Mt. Muise. Having been through Gadwah Notch many a time (before we put the trail in and afterwards) I know full well the potential for real struggle getting through there. But getting to the summit in winter with all the tight spruce and blowdowns had to have taken a hurculean effort.
My hat goes off to the folks who made the trek.
