We just received the okay to build our new shelter on Sugarloaf Arm in the Nash Stream Forest.
We are scheduling a work day to haul materials and tools (ATV) up the mountain, move the stuff a short distance by hand, and set piers and pour cement.
If you would like to join us, please post here or post to Friends of the Cohos Trail on Facebook. We will send you info about the Wednesday, August 31 work day. If you would care to stay overnight before or after that day, you may join a group of us at Kamp Kirk nearby. -- percy peaks

The day went well and we accomplished most everything we set out to do. Bruce from Whitefield showed up and while Kim, Larry, Bruce and I worked up the mountain, Gayle watched Brian. My ATV only had one minor complaint and that was the 4 bags of cement on the front with none on the back....Ha!
