Several trails in the Cohos Trail system could use your help and effort one day a year. Adopters use hand tools to take care of the trails. If heavy work needs to be done, simply report it and we will take care of the task.
Trails you could help maintain:
Bald Mt. Notch Trail. About 2.5 miles. Road access. Rowells Link. About one mile (2 mile hike in to path) Gadwah Notch Trail, south half. 3 miles. Road access Gadwah Notch Trail, north half. 2 miles (2 mile hike in to path) Mt. Gloriette Ridge and short link to Dixville Peak access lane -- Drive up Wilderness ski area road to summit. 2 miles of trail in this area Three Brothers Trail. 2-plus miles. Road access.
Most new trails coming on line in Pittsburg will need adopters in the future, as well, including the Mt. Covell Trail, the Round Pond Brook Trail, the Camp Otter Trail, the Moose Alley Trail, the Falls in the River Trail, the Idlewilde Spur, the Idlewildle Camp Trail, trail on the back side of Third Connecticut Lake, and the Fourth Connecticut Lake Trail (Nature Conservancy).
If you have an interest in adopting a trail by yourself or with a friend, please email cohos@cohostrail.org. Or call 603-538-6777.
A dozen people adopt trails now. You could join that astute group.

Chad Pepau of Stark recently adopted the East Side Trail in the Nash Stream Forest and spent a day making terrfic improvements in there.
Adopters do have a big impact on the Cohos Trail system. We could use adopters on the Col. Whipple Trail in Jefferson, the Bald Mt. Trail and Rowells Link in Nash Stream Forest, the Gadwah Notch Trail in remote Columbia township, the Three Brothers Trail in Dixville and the ski area access from Table Rock in that same area, and half a dozen brand new trails in Pittsburg.
Volunteer and help keep the longest new trail in the East open and in good shape by spending a few hours a year on the trail.
Thanks
