I can report that the owner of Camp Kirk has reviewed a formal proposal for the refurbishing and eventual use of Camp Kirk in the Nash Stream Forest and has approved of the text.
"Start the presses," he stated in an email.
Now that proposal will go to the DRED office in Lancaster for review by employees of several state agencies there. Hopefully, the agencies will find the proposal workable and we will eventually receive a formal nod to proceed with the development of the historic building as a tool cache and maintenance depot and as a hut facility for outdoor recreation activity.
The draft of the proposal was also sent a few weeks ago to the board of directors and officers of the Cohos Trail Association. So far, no problems with it have surfaced.
Camp Kirk will be free to the public, should we get the approval to utilize it as a hut. We will accept donations and sponsorships. In fact, there are already some stirrings regarding funding.
If you would like to sponsor or know someone or some company that would like to sponsor the modest refurbishing costs and upkeep, please let us know by posting to this site or emailing the association at cohos@cohostrail.org.

Excellent news! Yeah! I'll continue w/the architectural plans, material list, labor, and etc. We have a lot of possibilities to explore. This also will be great to think about & discuss during the snows of this winter with dimensions and the plans in front of us.
Getting so much better all the time. This is excitement!!

Have continued the P.R. necessary to gain the support and financing of our ventures. This sponsorship, with donations, dues, online purchases, and grant money will take us into 2011 and far beyond!

Several of us will be there for a week, so there will be more than enough food. We also eat those tasty power bars.'
My meal plan for the week is Lunch: Turkey bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwiches, or pb& j. Dinner: Shrimp w/pasta & vegetables, or steaks tips w/onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms over rice/pasta, or beef stew over pasta. Breakfast: Pancakes, soy milk w/cereal, both w/strawberries, blackberries and blueberries, or potatoes, turkey bacon and eggs w/toast, or fruit in oatmeal. Mix and match! Lunch: What you didn't have the day before.
We sure eat well. How's the menu look to you?! Feel feel to use our small kitchen and cook anything. Bring a cooler w/your favorite food/beverages. You, the reader, are most welcome to join us. Bring along a few friends to join in the fun!

We are good to go!
Went to check what I may have missed before on earlier visits, wrote everything on paper, step by step.
So good reader, here's a fun weekend arriving and You are invited to join us! The drive will see the magnificent mountains and the leaves are changing wondrous colors, turning flame orange to a beautiful crimson.
Give back. Be part of it. Join us in our magic, music, & a bit of work weekend. It's for a very great cause. And You are invited.
